Do you feel overwhelmed by the perils and pitfalls of the world? Some of our deepest struggles, even for believers, are rooted in a misunderstanding of our relationship with God. Many have trouble accepting God's love, understanding genuine forgiveness, or experiencing His grace. The brokenness of a world damaged by sin and evil creates unresolved anxieties that have left you feeling deeply discouraged.

The hypocrisy in the church has felt like a betrayal. The moral failure of spiritual leaders, Christians weaponizing personal convictions, and internal battles over first-world ideology have diminished the validity of faith and the necessity of the church. Religion has been left wanting. Endless hours and years of investing resources have produced little returns. Cultural pressures have taken over churches. Empty promises of a more fulfilling life have left many wondering if these things have pushed the church off its foundations. The result is a growing disconnect where many have deconstructed their faith, abandoned the church, and, for some, even their relationship with Christ.

The Lord's Prayer is Jesus's personal invitation to find renewed hope by revisiting God's divine blueprint for a God-honoring life. Jesus cuts through all the distractions of life and the dangers of religion to provide the one prayer to give true worshippers the Father's design for a Spirit-filled, God-honoring life. Hidden in plain sight, Jesus's commentary on His own prayer will provide us with an eternal perspective that will demonstrate this to be the most powerful, transformational prayer in all of the Scriptures. This is a prayer given to change our lives.

And it can change yours as well.

About the Author

Brad was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was the oldest of three boys and graduated from Ernest Manning High School in 1978. He received Christ around the age of six years of age but struggled with a fragile self-image, which became exacerbated by the trauma of comparing his life to others in his early teens. Brad experienced deeper levels of freedom in Christ as the Spirit of God broke through a poor understanding of identity and significance. He has a Th.M and M.Div from Western Seminary and a D. Min in Discipleship from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has been the Lead Pastor at Oak Grove Church in Golden Valley, MN, since 2009 and Regional Executive Director for Venture Church Network Midwest since 2020.
